Robert Swarter

Architectural Drafter

Fun Fact: In high school, Robby played Bass 5—the band’s biggest drum, basically a kitchen appliance strapped to your chest. His band director, apparently also moonlighting as a CrossFit coach, made him sprint 20 yards forward and back in eight steps each. Because nothing says “musical artistry” like cardio with a 50-pound drum.
To up the stakes, two color guard rifles flew right in front of him. Add rain, a slick field, and a drum that blocks your view like a brick wall… disaster was inevitable.
One rifle clipped his shoulder, the other slipped underfoot, and gravity gleefully joined in. Robby bounced between drum and ground like a cartoon. The audience cheered, the doctor waited, and Robby earned a shiny new concussion.
Moral: Marching band isn’t just music—it’s a contact sport.
